How We Write and Check Our Pages
The standards behind the information on this site.
Standards
Our approach
Each page is written for people dealing with a fire in Arlington, in plain language and in our own words. The aim is to explain what usually happens and what to ask, not to push any particular company or service.
Factual statements come from public sources such as federal agencies, the American Red Cross, the National Weather Service, the NFPA, Texas state agencies and published industry documents. Each page lists its sources so readers can check them, and inline numbers point to the source behind a statement.
Pages are written to be read by people under stress, so we keep sentences short and put the most useful answer first.
Limits
What we leave out
We do not publish invented reviews, ratings, licence numbers, years in business, response-time promises or other claims we cannot verify. Contractors reached through this line are independent and are never described as our staff.
Nothing here is legal, insurance, medical or engineering advice, and it cannot replace an inspection by a qualified professional who has seen your home. When a source changes or disappears, we replace it with a current source supporting the same point or rewrite the statement.
